CTS Import Failed: do not match component version

You tried to import the transport request in STMS, but you got an error message.

It appears that the component versions between the development (DEV) and production (PRD) systems are not aligned.

Symtoms

The error description appears as follows.

  • IMPORT_NOT_ALLOWED
  • 1 of 1 requests do not match the component version of the target system.

Solutions

There is a difference in component version between the source system and the target system.

  • In the STMS import queue status, if a request is marked with the ‘Component version mismatch’ icon, you can check which component versions do not match in that request.
  • It is recommended to apply patches to the components with version mismatches.
  • If you are unable to patch the software components, you can select the ‘Ignore Invalid Component Version’ option when importing the CTS request.

In SPAM, you can check which software component files are required to update the invalid component versions.

  1. Download Software Component patch files from SAP Support Portal.
  2. Log into SAPGUI, Client 000.
  3. Load support packages from Front End or Application Server.
  4. Click the Display/Define button.
  5. Choose the components which you want to import.
  6. Click the Calculate Queue button.
  7. Click the ‘Truck’ icon to import the software components.
