How to generate the XML file for Maintenance Planner

Prerequisites

The SPAM/SAINT version must be 59 or higher.
If the version is lower than the required one, the menu SPAM > Utilities > Generate System Info XML will be missing.

This procedure is only valid if the system you update does not have external connectivity to a Solution Manager system due to security reasons.

Procedure

Download XML file for ABAP stack

You can download XML file for ABAP stack in SPAM.

• Create new SAP users such as ADMIN in client 000. You can’t download the XML file using the SAP* user.
• In SPAM, click the Utilities > Generate system info XML menu.

Download XML file for JAVA stack

You need the SUM tool to download the XML file for the Java stack.

• You can download the SUM tool as described in the SUM user guides. see Software Update Manager Info.
• Follow the steps described in SAP Notes 2293050
• If you are in a Dual Stack system, follow both of the steps above.

Add system in Maintenance Planner

1. In Maintenance Planner, select “Explore Systems”.
2. Click the Add System button.
3. Upload your system’s XML files for one or both of the Java and ABAP stacks. For more information, see SAP Note 2350416.
